Saturday 1 July 2017 I took the bus for a trip along
four towns in my own region. First stop was De Lier in our municipality of
Westland. De Lier is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It lies about 1,80 m below sea level. As
the lowest point in Westland De Lier suffers from flooding during heavy rain. De
Lier used to be a separate municipality. On 1 January 2004, it merged with
Naaldwijk, 's-Gravenzande, Monster, and Wateringen to form the municipality of
Westland.
The stamp I used is a personal stamp designed and
issued by Postzegelvereniging Monster (Monster stamp club) in the series 'Westlands
mooiste' (Westland's most beautiful). It represents the De Lier based company Fransen
Roses, producer of different varieties of roses. The stamp shows the rose
Myrna+.
